Testimonials

One day we were looking thru a family members' old bible and found the church's name. Our interest brought us to unexpectedly drop by the church for additonal information. We were warmly greeted by Linda the church secretary who answered our many questions and gave us a tour of the building. Soon afterwards we were contacted by Pastor Miller to discuss our interest in the church as well as our reservations to attend regarding our special needs child. We attended a Sunday service and knew immediately this was a warm and welcoming community for all members of our family to grow and worship.

We first came to DAPC in late October 2008 having discovered we were expecting our first child. From the moment we were greeted at the door of the church we knew we had found a very special place of worship. We embarked, over the next few months, on a voyage of discovery beginning with the very informative discovery classes and culminating in our Baptism. We are both delighted to continue our journey of Faith at Drayton Avenue. Every member of the Church has made us feel like long time members from day one and we are very excited to introduce our new family member to our new Church family in early July.

I came to Drayton in 2008 after meeting Pastor Miller through my nephew. I drove him to his Thursday afternoon confirmation classes and Scott always came out to say hello. I was impressed with Scott's down to earth kindness and sensiblity and could see why he had made a good impression on my nephew. I decided to visit the church to see what it was that kept my nephew and his father coming back each Sunday. I was welcomed very warmly, which is not that unusal for any church, however on my second and third visits I was welcomed back by several members. Most churches can recognize a newcomer the first time, but never acknowledge you a second time and that made a huge difference! My sister and I began attending weekly, we were asked to get involved in activities right away and decided by November to be baptized and join the church. Due to inter-religion marriages, work schedules and such, it took close to 40 years for our family to find a church we all enjoy attending and Drayton was the church! My brother, who attends a Presbyterian Church in Lapeer, has attended a few of the services at Drayton and he also agrees "Drayton feels like coming home".
